India banned the AliExpress app on 24 November 2020, one of 43 China-linked apps blocked under Section 69A of the IT Act. The website is blocked on some networks, not all: between 15 July and 15 October 2026 OONI recorded 39 confirmed blocks of www.aliexpress.com in India, 32 of them on Reliance Jio, while 90 of 175 tests loaded normally. Through AnyProxy on 15 October 2026 search results loaded, but prices and storefront followed the proxy country, not India.

Measured inside India · OONI
175 OONI tests of www.aliexpress.com from 2026-07-15 to 2026-10-15: 90 loaded normally, 45 anomalies (not proof of blocking), 39 confirmed blocked, 1 test failure.
Whether AliExpress opens depends on your ISP. On Reliance Jio (AS55836), 32 of 35 OONI tests were confirmed blocks, with DNS answering 49.44.79.236 instead of AliExpress's servers. On Airtel broadband (AS24560) 25 of 33 were anomalies but none confirmed; on ACT (AS24309) half were confirmed blocks. 65 of the 175 tests came from a DigitalOcean data-centre network (mostly normal), which does not represent home users.
Retrieved 2026-10-15. Volunteers run OONI Probe on their own networks; an anomaly is a signal, not proof. Open these measurements on OONI Explorer.
What we tested through AnyProxy
Tested from our proxy exits, not from a India ISP. Results can change when AliExpress changes.
How to unblock from India
A phone on mobile data, a college PC, a managed browser — anything that runs Chrome, Safari, or Firefox works from India.
Singapore is closest for most India networks. Switch if your ISP filters the first hop.
AliExpress is fetched from outside your network and opens in this tab. Some features may not work; see tests on this page.
Deep dive · AliExpress in India specifically
29 Jun 2020: India blocks 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok and WeChat, under Section 69A of the IT Act. 2 Sep 2020: 118 more apps blocked under the same section. 24 Nov 2020: MeitY orders 43 more apps blocked, including AliExpress, Alipay Cashier and CamCard, citing activities 'prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order'. Jul–Oct 2026: OONI: 39 confirmed blocks of www.aliexpress.com in India out of 175 tests; 32 on Reliance Jio.
The 2020 order was issued under Section 69A of the IT Act, which lets the government direct intermediaries to block access; Section 69A orders are confidential. For apps, enforcement came via app stores. For the website, OONI's 2026 confirmed measurements on Reliance Jio are DNS-based: the resolver returns 49.44.79.236 for www.aliexpress.com (e.g. measurement 20261014204317.186888_IN_webconnectivity_3f0e5948fe07d9c9, 14 Oct 2026). ACT (AS24309) also shows DNS-flagged confirmed blocks. Other ISPs show anomalies but no confirmed block in the window.
In our tests through AnyProxy on 15 October 2026, these worked: Search for 'phone case' (Virginia); Open the AliExpress homepage (Frankfurt). these partly worked: Open the AliExpress homepage (Singapore). Details and screenshots are below.
DNS snapshot
We scanned 15 public DNS resolvers worldwide for aliexpress.com. Below is what each resolver returned. This shows how the domain resolves from public resolvers outside your network, not what your ISP returns.
Snapshot from DomainScan on 2026-10-05. A resolver that gave no answer is not proof of blocking in India; see the measurements above for in-country evidence.

Legal in India?
Using a web proxy is legal in India. What you access through it is still governed by Indian law and any active court-ordered content takedowns.
Nothing on this page constitutes legal advice. If your workplace policy prohibits proxies specifically, that policy still applies; the fact that the tool is legal does not override an agreement you signed with a network operator.
