On 15 Oct 2026 Spotify's web player (open.spotify.com) and the public 'Today's Top Hits' playlist loaded fully through AnyProxy's Singapore server. Pressing play while logged out brought up Spotify's own 'Start listening with a free Spotify account' prompt, and no audio started, so you need an account to listen. Spotify itself is not offered in some countries, including Russia (service suspended in April 2022), China and Iran, which are missing from Spotify's own list of markets.

What is a Spotify proxy?
The short answer
A Spotify proxy is a server that fetches Spotify for you and returns the page through your browser. Instead of your device asking spotify.com directly, your browser asks anyproxy.site, and we ask Spotify on your behalf. The site sees our server, not you. Your network sees anyproxy.site, not Spotify.

Spotify itself is healthy
When Spotify will not load, Spotify's own servers are rarely the cause. Here is a dated snapshot of the real spotify.com infrastructure from DomainScan on 2026-10-05 — compare against your network's symptoms.
15 of 15 public DNS resolvers returned an address for spotify.com in this snapshot. A resolver with no answer is not proof of blocking anywhere. If your own network returns nothing or a different address, the problem is more likely on your network than at Spotify.

- Logged out, you can browse and see playlists, but pressing play asks you to sign up or log in.
- Spotify decides availability by market. Our free regions (Singapore, Frankfurt, US) are all in Spotify's market list, but whether an account from an unsupported country plays through a proxy region was not tested.
- Expect a cookie consent banner at the bottom of the page.

Open Spotify on managed devices
Managed networks — managed Wi-Fi, café PCs, hostel internet — often filter Spotify at the DNS or IP level. Content filters used by schools and companies sort sites into categories such as "streaming", and administrators choose which categories to block.
Because AnyProxy is a website — not an app or extension — a Chromebook or managed browser that restricts installs still opens it in Chrome. Type spotify.com and Spotify opens in the same tab, as far as the site allows it; see the tests above. Note: your organisation's acceptable-use policy still applies; check it before use.
