A web proxy is a website that opens other websites for you inside a browser tab — no app installed, no configuration on your device.

In depth

You visit the web proxy in your browser, paste a URL, and the proxy fetches that page from its own servers and rewrites the HTML so it renders inside your tab. AnyProxy, CroxyProxy, and ProxySite are all web proxies. The category is distinct from a proxy configured on your device (system-level HTTP or SOCKS proxy) because a web proxy needs zero device configuration — you just visit a URL. That makes it the only proxy option on managed devices where system settings and installs are locked. Web proxies handle browser traffic (HTML, images, JavaScript, WebSocket) but cannot proxy native mobile apps or non-HTTP protocols.
