TL;DR

On 15 October 2026 we played the same YouTube video through four free web proxies. Through AnyProxy it played to the end. CroxyProxy and Proxyium loaded the watch page behind an EU cookie screen but the video never started. 4everProxy got a "confirm you're not a bot" wall. Ranking is by that result first, then ads and region choice.

Why this list exists

How we ranked: one task, the one people come for. We opened "Me at the zoo" (youtube.com/watch?v=jNQXAC9IVRw) logged out through each proxy on the same afternoon and counted a video as played only when its clock moved. Ties were broken by whether you can pay to remove ads and choose a server. AnyProxy publishes this list and ranks itself in it, so treat our placement with suspicion. That is why every ranking below points to a dated test or measurement, including the tests AnyProxy lost. Two well-known names are missing because we could not test them: ProxySite bounced every request back to its homepage on 12 Oct, and KProxy served a certificate for a different domain on 5 Oct. We did not measure video resolution, so there are no quality claims here.

YouTube shows that EU cookie screen when the request comes from a European address. CroxyProxy exited through the Netherlands, Proxyium through Poland and AnyProxy Frankfurt through Germany. Choose AnyProxy Singapore or Virginia if you want to skip it.
What does "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" mean?
YouTube has decided the proxy's address looks automated and wants a signed-in account before playing. We saw it through 4everProxy. Switching server or proxy is the only fix that does not involve signing in.
