TL;DR: On 12 October 2026 AnyProxy was the only one of eight web proxies we tried that opened our six Cloudflare-protected test sites: 6 of 6. CroxyProxy, BlockAway, Proxyium, 4everProxy and TrickyBird loaded 0 of 6, and ProxySite and KProxy could not be tested. That is six sites, not every Cloudflare site: the same week ChatGPT’s check failed through AnyProxy’s Frankfurt server, and umingle.com showed Cloudflare’s “Sorry, you have been blocked” on every region. Try AnyProxy if the site you want shows a “Just a moment…” page elsewhere; keep whatever you use now if it never does.
You know the moment. You are on a Chromebook, or a work laptop, or hotel Wi-Fi, and the forum you want is blocked. You open a web proxy, paste the link, and get a white page with a spinning logo: Just a moment… You wait. You try a second proxy. Same spinner. You tick the Verify you are human box. Spinner. After a minute the page gives up: Unable to connect to the website.
For as long as web proxies have existed, that page has been the end of the road, and it guards a lot of road: W3Techs’ daily survey put Cloudflare in front of 26.9% of all websites on 12 October 2026 (W3Techs, retrieved 2026-10-12). Its bot check is tied to the site’s own address, and a web proxy shows you the site under a different address, so the check can never finish in your tab. We wrote up the mechanics in why every web proxy gets stuck on Cloudflare. This post is the test.
Key Takeaways
- Same six Cloudflare-protected sites, eight web proxies, one day, screenshots kept. AnyProxy 6 of 6. Five competitors 0 of 6. Two could not be tested.
- The five that failed all stopped at the same Cloudflare page, because they all have the same structural problem. It is the category, not one bad product.
- AnyProxy completes the Cloudflare check on your behalf. On the test sites the first load took three to eight seconds; later loads were immediate.
- What still does not work: sites that block all datacenter traffic (umingle.com), and ChatGPT is hit and miss (Virginia and Singapore loaded on 15 October, Frankfurt did not).
The test
On 12 October 2026 we chose six sites that sit behind a plain Cloudflare check and have no login wall, spanning the kinds of sites people actually paste into a proxy: a forum (4chan), a developer Q&A site (Stack Overflow), a wiki (nixos.wiki), two chat sites (Chatiw, Omegle Web) and a fan-fiction archive (Glimmer Fics). We opened each one through eight web proxies from the same Mac in the same Chromium window (AnyProxy on its Virginia region), typed the URL into each proxy’s own bar, and waited at least 25 seconds. We kept a screenshot of whatever the tab showed at the end.
A site counted as loaded only if its real page rendered. A Cloudflare page of any kind counted as stuck.
| Web proxy | 4chan | Stack Overflow | nixos.wiki | Chatiw | Omegle Web | Glimmer Fics | Loaded |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AnyProxy | loads | loads | loads | loads | loads | loads | 6 / 6 |
| CroxyProxy | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | 0 / 6 |
| BlockAway | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | 0 / 6 |
| Proxyium | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | 0 / 6 |
| 4everProxy | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | 0 / 6 |
| TrickyBird | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | stuck | 0 / 6 |
| ProxySite | not testable | — | |||||
| KProxy | not testable | — |
“Stuck” was one of two Cloudflare pages: Performing security verification followed by Unable to connect to the website, or, on 4chan and on every 4everProxy attempt, Just a moment… until we gave up.
Why five different proxies failed the same way
Three of the five share one engine. CroxyProxy, BlockAway and Proxyium hand you off to the same style of numeric-address servers and show the same pages, so a result on one is a result on all three. 4everProxy and TrickyBird run their own engines and failed identically anyway.
These are not five bugs; it is one design meeting one check. A web proxy rewrites the site to live under the proxy’s address. Cloudflare’s check only accepts an answer that comes from the site’s own address. Put those two facts together and the spinner is inevitable, whichever proxy you pick and however many times you tick the box.
The newest entrant proves the point best. TrickyBird’s domain was registered in August 2025, and it has the most carefully written logging policy in the category and strong homepage security headers (HSTS with preload, a content security policy, X-Frame-Options). None of that helps with Cloudflare, because the problem is not how well the proxy is built. It is where the check is answered from.

What it feels like on AnyProxy now
You paste the link as before. The first visitor to a site waits three to eight seconds; later visits open at once. During those seconds the tab shows our loading bar, not Cloudflare’s spinner, while the check is completed on your behalf for the site’s real address.
What we saw during rollout: on the six test sites the first load took between three and eight seconds, and every reload after that was immediate. No checkbox appeared in the tab at any point.
Nothing changed for sites that were already working. Nothing to install, no account, and the free tier is the same free tier.
What still does not work
We put limits on the same page as the wins, because a proxy that says “everything works” is a proxy you cannot trust on anything.
- Hard blocks. Some sites tell Cloudflare to refuse datacenter networks outright. The page says Sorry, you have been blocked. That is not a check, it is a wall, and we know of no web proxy that opens it. On test day umingle.com (all three free regions) and apps.tokenpedia.com (Virginia) showed it through AnyProxy; we dropped them from the grid as a different class of problem, and umingle.com was still blocked when we rechecked on 15 October. Two more candidates failed for other reasons: couponbirds.com returned its own “Access Denied” page, and download-soundtracks.com stayed blank.

- Subscription streaming. AnyProxy lists Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video as not supported. Their home pages open, but playback needs an account and the service’s own region and proxy checks; we have not tested signed-in playback. DRM as such is not the wall: a Widevine-encrypted demo clip played through AnyProxy on 15 October.
- Voice and video calls. WhatsApp, FaceTime and similar use protocols that run outside a browser tab. A web proxy carries the chat, not the call.
- ChatGPT. On 12 October it stayed on Just a moment… through all three free regions. On 15 October the logged-out page loaded through Virginia and, in a visible browser, Singapore, while Frankfurt stayed on Cloudflare’s Verifying… box. Our site still marks it “may fail”.

Proxy by proxy, one sentence each
- AnyProxy. 6 of 6. Completes the Cloudflare check for you, though not every time (ChatGPT, above); free tier with no session clock, a region picker with live latency, Pro at $4.99 a month.
- CroxyProxy. 0 of 6. Running since 2016; Premium removes ads for $3.50 a month through Patreon.
- BlockAway. 0 of 6. CroxyProxy under another domain, with the same result.
- Proxyium. 0 of 6. Clean interface, honest server labels, same engine and same result as CroxyProxy.
- 4everProxy. 0 of 6. The longest exit-country list we have seen on a free proxy; Cloudflare sites sat on Just a moment….
- TrickyBird. 0 of 6. Best-written logging policy in the category, strong headers, 60-minute free sessions, $9.99 a month Premium.
- ProxySite. Not testable. Every proxied request bounced back to its own homepage from our test browser.
- KProxy. Not testable. Its domain served an invalid certificate on the day.
The ranked version of this list, with the methodology, lives at best proxies for Cloudflare-protected sites. For the general ranking that covers ads, regions and security headers, see the best free web proxies in 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Which web proxy works with Cloudflare-protected sites?
In our 12 October 2026 test, only AnyProxy: 6 of 6 sites loaded. That does not make it pass every Cloudflare site; see the limits above. CroxyProxy, BlockAway, Proxyium, 4everProxy and TrickyBird loaded 0 of 6. ProxySite and KProxy could not be tested that day.
Does AnyProxy bypass Cloudflare?
No. It completes Cloudflare’s check for the site’s real address before handing you the page. The site still runs its check and still receives a valid answer. Sites that have chosen to block datacenter traffic stay blocked, and a stricter check such as ChatGPT’s does not always finish.
Is the Cloudflare fix on the free tier?
Yes. It is part of how AnyProxy loads pages, not a paid feature. The free tier (Singapore, Frankfurt, Virginia) has no session time limit; Pro removes ads and adds Tokyo and Los Angeles for $4.99 a month or $39 a year.
Will this work at school or on a managed Chromebook?
Often. AnyProxy is a web page, so it opens in Chrome with nothing to install, and the check is handled for you. A school filter can still block anyproxy.site itself, and your school’s acceptable-use policy still applies. Setup is in the Chromebook guide.
Would a VPN be better for Cloudflare sites?
A VPN avoids the problem entirely, because it does not change the site’s address in your browser. If you are allowed to install one and want your whole device routed, it is a fine answer. If you are on a device where installs are locked, or you only need one tab, a web proxy that completes the check is the lighter tool. The trade-offs are in proxy vs VPN.
How often do you rerun this test?
We plan to rerun it on the same six sites, and the list page carries the date of the last run. So far: the full grid on 12 October 2026, and a Stack Overflow recheck through AnyProxy on 15 October 2026, which still loaded.
Try it on the site that used to spin
Open anyproxy.site, paste the link, and watch the loading bar instead of the spinner. If the page shows Sorry, you have been blocked, that is the site’s choice. If it sits on a check, wait half a minute, reload once, or switch region.
For the mechanism behind all of this, read why every web proxy gets stuck on Cloudflare’s “Just a moment…” page.
